A synthetic pyrethroid with fast knock-down activity against household pest insects. It is used in public  health against mosquitoes, houseflies and cockroaches.

Density:1.03 (20 °C); Flash point:139 °C (Pensky-Martens closed test); Vapour pressure:<0.013 mPa (23.1 °C); Partition coefficient(n-octanol and water):logP = 4.49 (25 °C); Solubility:In water 8 mg/l (25 °C). In hexane, methanol, xylene >500 g/ kg, 20-25 °C.; Stability:Under normal storage conditions, stable for at least 2 years.

Oral:Acute oral LD₅₀ for male rats 640, female rats 460 mg/ kg. Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous LD₅₀ for rats >5000 mg/kg. Non-irritating to the eyes and skin (rabbits). Not a skin sensitiser (guinea pigs). Inhalation: LC₅₀ (4 h) for rats 288-333 mg/m³.

Ecotoxicology: 
Birds:Acute oral LD₅₀ for bobwhite quail 1171, mallard ducks >2000 mg/kg. Dietary LC₅₀ for bobwhite quail and mallard ducks >5620 ppm.Daphnia: EC₅₀ (48 h) 0.0062 mg/l.Fish: LC₅₀ (96 h) for rainbow trout 0.012, bluegill sunfish 0.022 mg/l. WATER SOLUBILITY: 8 mg/l at 25° C
