       At the regional waste disposal site “De Vlagheide”, Den Ouden became involved in environmental issues and recycling. The experience obtained here prompted the company to add the processing of green waste to produce new products to its activities. In 1999, the company acquired Ferm O Feed, a manufacturer of organic fertilizers, and in 2006, Den Ouden took over explosives detection company Bodac.
