EcoPesticides International closes Series A Round of funding

Founded in 2012, EcoPesticides International, Inc. develops novel, biologic-based pesticides that stop defined pest species that threaten crops without harm to people or the environment. The company’s microbial pesticide technology was developed at the University of New Mexico and licensed through STC.UNM.

EcoPesticides has created eShield™ Microencapsulation Technology to protect microorganisms used in biopesticides from rapid degradation due to environmental factors.  Its proprietary process coats biopesticide agents with a virtual “shield,” blocking solar UV radiation that compromise the performance of biopesticides, limiting effectiveness in crop protection. eShield Microencapsulation Technology is applicable to many crops, particularly fruits and vegetables that can be tainted by residual chemical pesticides. Biopesticides with eShield contain no harmful chemicals, leaving no toxic residual chemicals on crops.
