Environmental Profile
Ecotoxicology:
Algae: ErC50 for Scenedesmus subspicatus 7.2 mg/l.Bees:No data; only used as a glasshouse fumigant.Birds:No data; only used as a glasshouse fumigant.Daphnia: LC50 (48 h) 0.002 mg/l.Fish: LC50 (96 h) for golden orfe 0.071, rainbow trout 0.00361 mg/l.
Environmental fate:
Animals:Orally administered sulfotep was absorbed relatively quickly by rats. Elimination took place quickly via the kidney. The main elimination product is the diethylthiophosphate.Soil:Koc value and leaching studies indicate that sulfotep can be classified as immobile. Degraded quickly in different soils. Monothiotep and tetraethylpyrophosphate were very short-lived intermediate products which were degraded tPlant:Major metabolites are monothiotep, tetraethylpyrophosphate, diethylthiophosphoric acid and diethylphosphoric acid.
