Activity
6-Benzyladenine is a potent growth regulator, stimulating cell division, increasing sink activity to improve the ability of fruit to compete for resources and preventing leaf abscission and ageing. High levels of cytokinins during the early development of fruits were found to be critical for improving fruit size.
CropUse
CropUses:
apples, cherries, ornamentals, pistachios

Apple foliage, Promalin

125 to 500 ppm spray or 5,000-7,500 ppm as latex spot

6-Benzyaldenine and gibberellins (plant growth regulators produced by the fermentation of the fungus Gibberella fujikorai) are the active ingredients of two commercially available 6-benzyladenine-based products, Promalin and Accel. Both are soluble .liquid concentrate formulations with identical 6-benzyladenine concentration and different gibberellin A4A7 concentrations.
