Oral:Acute oral LD50 for rats >5000, mice >10,000 mg/kg, dogs >2000 mg/kg. Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous LD50 for rats >2000 mg/kg. Non-irritant to eyes and skin (rabbits).

Bees:Non-toxic to bees. LD50 (48 h) (contact) >500 µg formulation/bee; (oral) >2563 µg formulation/bee.Birds:Non-toxic to birds.Fish: LC50 (96 h) for rainbow trout and bluegill sunfish >1000 mg/l. 
Environmental fate: 
Animals:Metabolites include desmethylaminodimefuron, monomethylamino-tert-butylhydroxydimefuron and monomethylaminodimefuron.Soil:Residual activity persists in soil for 3-6 months, following application in late autumn or winter. Microbial degradation increases rapidly in the spring as the temperature rises. Kdes 19.0-44.9 (4 soil types), Koc 13Plant:Metabolites include N-demethyldimefuron and N-didemethyldimefuron.
