Melting point:41-42 °C; Vapour pressure:21 mPa (20 °C); Partition coefficient(n-octanol and water):logP = 4.05; Solubility:In water 2.3 mg/l (25 °C). In acetone, xylene >1000, hexane 290 (all in g/l, 25 °C).; Stability:Stable in acidic media, but comparatively unstable in alkaline media. In water, DT50 (25 °C) 22 d ( pH 7), 2 d ( pH 9). Stable below 200 °C.;
Toxicology
Oral:Acute oral LD50for male rats 790, female rats 877, male mice 811, female mice 749 mg/ kg. Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous LD50 for male mice >1500 mg/kg. Application (24 h) of tech. to skin and eyes of rabbits produced no irritation. Inhalation: LC50 (4 h) for rats >44 mg/m3.
