Biological pesticides sales in 2018 up 77% in Brazil, says ABCBio

The Brazilian Association of Biological Control of Companies (ABCBio) was founded on November 7, 2007 from a need to bring together the producers and traders of organic products for pest control. Over time, since its inception, has been advocating the regulation, strengthening and representantividade this segment.  The embryo arose from the initiative of researchers Wagner Bettiol and Marcelo Morandi (Embrapa CNPMA) that during the SINCOBIOL in October 2007 in Brasilia, gathered a group of industry representatives to discuss the creation of the Association.  entity's founders were 14 companies: Turfal, Itaforte, Bio Control, Farrukhabad Laboratory Bug Biological Agents, ICB Bioagritec, Promip, Bio Soja, JCO and Biocontrol.  The creation of the association occurred concurrently with the establishment of the first product registration rules for biologist control in Brazil (Joint Instruction No. 3, regulated by Law 7802, 1989, and Decree 4074, 2002).  Today, the ABCBio has more than 20 member companies that provide the market biopesticides microbiological quality products and macrobiológicos, innovative, contributing significantly to the control of pests in Brazilian agriculture.
