Hortus S.A. was founded on May 16, 1956 to serve national agriculture with seeds of the best quality. Its operations began with local ecotypes of alfalfa seeds and was extended to national and imported vegetable seeds. After being acquired by the Chilean holding ANASAC in 1995. Hortus started a new stage with vigorous and sustained growth. From this moment on, the agrochemicals line was implemented and the line of forage seeds, hybrid vegetables and open pollination was reinforced. In this way, the trials for the line of imported hybrid maize of the DEKALB brand were also started and, at the same time, a complete line of gardening was developed that includes seed of flowers, vegetables and aromatics, agrochemicals, fertilizers and greens for gardening and fields. Currently, Hortus has a chain of 30 branches distributed in the coast, highlands and jungle of Peru, for the sale and distribution of all its products. On its 61st anniversary, HORTUS reaffirms itself as a company whose cornerstone is its human capital, made up of more than 200 people, including employees and workers, all highly qualified and fully identified with the company's objectives and eager to contribute their knowledge and skills to the development of Peruvian agriculture.
