In 2016, the global market value of pesticides reached 56 billion US dollars of which the biopesticide market value was about 2 to 3 billion US dollars. It is expected that in the coming five years, the global demand for biopesticides will experience a rapid growth at an compound annual growth rate of 15%, and new biopesticides or biological control products will be launched ceaselessly.

AgroPages is hosting the "Top 10 Global Leading Biopesticide & Biocontrol Brands" program, aimed at screening a batch of brands with high reputation, high performance and high technologies, which will be served as the reference for the product users and the inspiration for product development by producers.

PROMAX® is a soil-applied fungicide and nematicide used as a preventive and curative agent. It is EPA exempt and OMRI listed. It can be applied at any point in the growing season, it doesn’t keep you out of the field, and it is not harmful to roots. AzaMax® is a reputed brand name in Biopesticide segment and can be used for management of >100 pests in 60 crops. It is very safe to Honey Bees and Bumble Bees and certified by OMRI. Venerate® advanced bioinsecticides (Burkholderia spp. strain A396) feature multiple modes of action and are effective against a wide variety of chewing and sucking insects and mites yet are easy on beneficials. Their unique and novel modes of action will complement and improve integrated pest management and insect resistance management programs.

Venerate products are microbial based and are powered by several active compounds that span different chemical classes. These compounds drive multiple modes of action which result in exoskeleton degradation and molting interference; control of the pests is achieved through exposure and ingestion of the product. With Venerate’s multiple active compounds and modes of action the risk of insect resistance is greatly reduced.

Regalia’s unique mode of action of Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR) brings a sustainable option to help simplify and extend your integrated pest management (IPM) program. It can be used as a stand-alone product, in rotation with or in combination with other fungicides to strengthen IPM programs and to help manage resistance in a wide range of organic and conventional crops, as well as in turf and ornamentals. Regalia also improves the crop’s tolerance to stress by enhancing overall plant health.

Recharge improves soil health, shifting the focus of any IPM program from the top to the bottom, from outside to inside.

Recharge can greatly enhance the effectiveness of integrated pest management programmes and is compatible with many biorational control programmes. It is particularly successful when utilised in combination with biopesticides, including Antario and Biotrine from Russell IPM.

The rich combination of microbes helps plants utilise their own immune systems to fight off diseases and pests. It targets pupae in the soil, preventing them from developing and emerging as caterpillars.

Recharge is most effective as a preventative measure and should be applied shortly after the plants have surfaced above ground. Additional pesticides should not be applied during that stage.

Fytomax PM

Fytomax PM is a biopesticide, based upon the combination of the powerful extract of neem seed oil, Azadirachtin, and plant extracts that work in synergy to repel insects and prevent feeding. Following application, Fytomax PM will kill larvae and act as an anti-feedant and insect growth regulator, to control larvae, pupae and adult insect pests of Fall armyworm.

Fytomax PM works by contact and systemic modes of action. It is also an ovipositional deterrent. It controls target pests by contact or by ingestion.

Fytomax PM is an appetite suppressant, thus slowing down and eventually stopping existing FAW damage. Having multiple modes of action, Fytomax PM works very well when combined with Biotrine.

XenTari

XenTari

XenTari is a highly selective insecticide for use against larvae (worms) of lepidopterous insects. XenTari has outstanding efficacy against armyworms and diamondback moth larvae. The active ingredient in XenTari is a pure, potent strain of Bacillus thuringiensis var. aizawai (Bta) composed of protein crystals and viable endospores. It's a great integrated pest management tool with DiPel庐Biological Insecticide or other chemistries, and it's easy on beneficial insects.

Helicovex is based on a naturally occurring insecticidal virus that specifically infects and kills larvae of African cotton bollworm, Corn earworm and otherHelicoverpa species. The unique technology allows efficient and sustainable control of these pests.

Loopex

Loopex is an insecticidal virus for the control of cabbage looper (Trichoplusia ni) on vegetables. It kills the larvae by ingestion and has an additional long-term effect on pest population reduction. Loopex is a valuable resistance management tool that can be included in any integrated pest management program (IPM), especially for the control of insecticide resistant populations.

OxiDate 2.0 kills bacterial and fungal pathogens, offering superior protection for your organic or conventional field and row crops. Use OxiDate 2.0 for curative and preventative crop protection applications, or tank mix with other residual fungicides to help provide immediate knockdown control.

Spear -T is a bioinsecticide for treatment of thrips in vegetables and ornamentals in greenhouses. Field trials of Spear-T demonstrate that results are equivalent or superior to conventional control chemicals.

Timorex Gold is a natural botanical broad spectrum fungicide with prophylactic and curative activity, based on a plant extract of Melaleuca alternifolia. Timorex Gold is effective against a wide range of plant-pathogenic fungi, including Oomycetes, Ascomycetes, and Basidiomycota, on numerous crops, including vegetables, herbs, grapevines, fruit trees, and banana. Timorex Gold has demonstrated high efficacy against Black Sigatoka (Black leaf streak disease in banana). Plants damaged by Black Sigatoka have a significant reduction in the photosynthesizing area of the leaf, and fruit yield losses can reach 50% through premature maturation.

Eradicoat is a physically acting biopesticide that has been shown to be highly effective against a number of common glasshouse pests. Currently exempt from registration in the UK due to its physical mode of action, it has become a key component of IPM programmes and is primarily employed by growers of high value salad crops and soft fruit to treat hot spots of spider mite and whitefly. Eradicoat works effectively with biological controls and is approved for use in conventional and organic production systems.
