Melting point:72.0-72.7 °C; ( tech., 66-69 °C); Flash point:>106 °C; Vapour pressure:0.065 mPa (25 °C); Henry constant:8.25 × 10-4 Pa m3 mol-1 ( calc.); Partition coefficient(n-octanol and water):logP = 2.95; Solubility:In water 25 mg/l (25 °C). In acetone 650, benzene 600, toluene, methyl isobutyl ketone 300, xylene 250, methanol 50, kerosene 5 (all in g/l, 25 °C).; Stability:Rapidly hydrolysed in alkaline media; relatively stable in acidic conditions; DT50 (20 °C) 13 d ( pH 4.5), <12 h ( pH 7), <4 h ( pH 8.3). Decomposes rapidly above 100 °C. Decompose.

Oral:Acute oral LD₅₀ for male rats 113, female rats 160 mg/ kg. Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous LD₅₀ for albino rabbits >5000 mg/ kg; mild skin and eye irritant (rabbits). Not a skin sensitiser (guinea pigs). Inhalation: LC₅₀ (4 h) for male and female rats 1.6 mg 70% WP/l air. ADI:( JMPR) 0.02 mg/ kg b.w. [1997].

Ecotoxicology: 
Bees: LD₅₀ 0.001 mg/bee.Birds: LC₅₀ (5 d) for bobwhite quail 507, mallard ducks >5000 mg/ kg diet.Daphnia: LC₅₀ (48 h) 8.5µg/l.Fish: LC₅₀ (96 h) for bluegill sunfish 0.07, rainbow trout 0.23 mg/l.
