Tolfenpyrad is a broad spectrum insecticide/miticide which is active against nymphal life stages. It inhibits egg-laying and reduces egg survival, having particular activity against the eggs of the diamondback moth Plutella xylostella. In some insect species, it has been shown to inhibit feeding. In trials, tolfenpyrad has shown no cross-resistance to organophosphates, pyrethroids, PBUs and nicotinoid insecticides.
