Also soluble in tetrahydrofuran; slightly soluble in dioxane and cyclohe; Stability:Stable ×180 °C. Decomposed in aqueous solution exposed to u.v. or daylight. Decomposed in strongly acidic media (to trichloroacetaldehyde and piperazine salts) and in strongly alkaline media (to chloroform and piperazine);

Oral:Acute oral LD₅₀ for rats >16 000, mice >6000, dogs >2000 mg/kg. Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous LD₅₀ for rabbits and rats >10 000 mg/kg. Inhalation: LC₅₀ (1 h) for rats >4.5 mg/l. Phytotoxicity:Phytotoxic to certain varieties of pear.

Ecotoxicology:
 Algae: EC₅₀ for Scenedesmus capricornutum 380 mg/l.Bees:60 g a.i./hl does not pose a hazard.Birds:Acute oral LD₅₀ for bobwhite quail >5000 mg/kg.Daphnia: LC₅₀ (48 h) 117 mg/l.Fish: LC₅₀ (96 h) for bluegill sunfish and rainbow trout >1000 mg/l.Worms:Low toxicity to earthworms; LD₅₀ >1000 mg/kg.Other beneficial spp.:Harmless to beneficial arthropods.
