Activity

ICIS-0748 is only active following foliar application. The product is applied to the female parent. The use of adjuvants is recommended for optimum activity. Following absorption, the product is translocated in the phloem to the developing tassels. The timing of application is critical B tassels should not have emerged from the stem. The product should not be applied in cold conditions, drought conditions or in the rain. It is reported that ICIS-0748 is effective on 75% of the inbred strains it uses as seed parents.

In field trials, ICIS-0748 has given similar results in terms of yield and quality to hand and/or mechanical detasseling.
