Ryanodine is a naturally occurring pyrrole carboxylate found in the stem of the tropical shrub Ryania speciosa. It acts on the calcium-channel protein and causes paralysis in insects. Importantly, insect ryanodine receptors are sensitive to ryanodine whereas mammal ryanodine receptors are not. Rynaxypyr selectively acts on the insect ryanodine receptor. -
