ActivityTrichodex (Trichoderma harzianum T-39) is a foliar fungicide. T harzianum competes with pathogenic fungi for nutritional resources. Crop diseases are therefore unable to infect the plant. Makhteshim recommends that the product is applied from pre-bloom to harvest in strawberries and vines. T harzianum T-39 leaves no residues on crops.
Trichodex is stated to suppress the growth of both susceptible and resistant strains of Botrytis cinerea.
Makhteshim recommends the use of Trichodex in rotation with chemical fungicides in disease management programmes. In Israel, a forecast system (GREENMAN) has been developed for use in commercial glasshouses.
The recommended use rate on vines and strawberries is 2.2 - 4.4 kg/ha at 7 - 14 day intervals up to six times a season. -
