Activity

Etobenzanid is only active when applied under flooded conditions, ideally 3-5 cm in depth. It is necessary to maintain flooded conditions for two weeks after treatment. In direct seeded rice the product can be applied from the 0.5 leaf stage of rice to the two-leaf stage of Echinochloa crus-galli and in transplanted rice from transplanting to the two-leaf stage of E crus-galli. Etobenzanid has no residual activity. Muddy conditions in the paddy reduce the activity of the product.

Hodogaya reports that etobenzanid does not cause phytotoxicity in rice.
