Activity
B pumilus GB-34 is common in soil, water, air and on dead plant tissues. It is often found on the developing root system of soybean plants, but is not harmful to the plant. The bacterium acts by colonising the developing root system of the soybean plant, preventing germination of the spores of Rhizoctonia and Fusarium by forming a physical barrier to nutrients. It may subsequently grow on these spores, destroying them. Thus application of the product to soybean seeds protects the roots of the soybean plant as it develops.
