ActivityP fluorescens Biovar V limits the effect of bacterial blotch by acting as an antagonist. It is applied as a prophylactic treatment to the mushroom compost after it has cooled to 30?C and prior to the mushroom spawning. It is then applied at casing, at the onset of pinning and after the first flush. The product can be applied in the normal watering regime, or misted into the air inlet of the peak heat room. Further applications can be made for second and third flushes of mushrooms. Mauri reports increased yields and post-harvest storage improvements following use of the product.
