ActivityPyroxasulfone is an isoxazoline compound. Pyroxasulfone is considered to be a seedling shoot growth inhibitor and the primary target enzyme is very long chain fatty acid elongase. It inhibits several fatty acid elongation steps for shoot formation and cell proliferation in the plants. Pyroxasulfone also interferes with new plant growth at the apical meristem and the coleoptile. Weed control with pyroxasulfone is primarily from preemergence application to the weed population.
