Activity
Insecticide
Halofenozide is active against larval stages of Coleoptera, Lepidoptera and some dipteran and homopteran species. It is primarily a stomach poison. The product also has some ovicidal activity. Applications to adults cause a marked reduction in fecundity.
Halofenozide is for application to soil. It is root-systemic. Pests cease feeding within a few hours of treatment and death follows in 1-21 days depending on species.
A study conducted in adult female mealworms showed that RH-0345 increased the amount of ecdysteroids (insect moulting hormone) in the ovaries and affected reproduction.
