Animals:Metabolism of carbamate insecticides is reviewed (M. Cool & C. K. Jankowski in "Insecticides").Soil:In soil, the methylthio group is rapidly oxidised to the sulfoxide and further, to the sulfone. Further degradation occurs to water-soluble metabolites.Plant:Metabolism in plants is the same as in soil. The duration of activity following absorption through the roots is at least 8 weeks.
