Activity

Herbicides.Metobenzuron is a contact herbicide. It is most active when applied to weeds with between two and five leaves. Symptoms of necrosis are observed within five days of treatment and the weeds die within ten days. Adjuvants, for example crop oil concentrates, are required for optimum activity.

In field trials, metobenzuron showed very low levels of phytotoxicity to maize. Mitsui does not anticipate any problems with crops grown in rotation with maize, due to metobenzuron's lack of residual activity.
