Environmental fate: 
Animals:In rats, 14C-methabenzthiazuron is rapidly metabolised and the radioactivity excreted in the urine, 97% of the dose being recovered within 48 hours. It is metabolised by a combination of side-chain hydrolysis and ring hydroxylation followed by Soil:In soil, methabenzthiazuron is strongly adsorbed. Duration of residual activity is c. 3 .Plant:In several plant species, similar metabolites were detected. The main metabolites are 1-hydroxymethyl-3-methyl-3-(benzothiazol-2-yl)urea, its glucoside and 3-methyl-3-(benzothiazol-2-yl)urea.WATER SOLUBILITY: 59 mg/l at 20° C
