Pyrethroid acts upon both the peripheral and central nervous system of the insect to stimulate the nerve cells to produce repetitive discharges and eventually cause paralysis. Non-systemic, rapid knockdown with contact and stomach action damaging insects nervous system. Sodium channel modulator.

Physical Properties
Molecular weight:375.5. Physical form:Viscous yellow liquid, with a faint characteristic odour ( tech.). Density:1.08 (25 °C),specific gravity at 25°C, 1.085. Composition:The name cyphenothrin correctly applies to the (RS, 1RS)-cis-trans- mixed isomers. The material used is however rich (95%) in the (1R)- isomers, 75% trans-. Flash point:130 °C; Vapour pressure:0.12 mPa (20 °C); 0.4 mPa (30 °C); Partition coefficient(n-octanol and water):logP = 6.29; Solubility:In water 9.01 µg/l (25 °C). In hexane 4.84, methanol 9.27 (both in g/100g, 20 °C). Stability:Stable for at least 2 years under normal storage conditions. Relatively stable to heat. Relatively thermostable. Miscible with most organic solvents at 20-25°C.
Toxicology
Oral:Acute oral LD50 for male rats 318 mg/kg, female rats 419 mg/kg (in corn oil). Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous 50 for rats >5000 mg/kg. Non-irritating to skin; minimal irritation to eyes. Inhalation: LC50 (3 h) for rats >1850 mg/m3.
