Activity

Acaricide/Miticide
Halfenprox controls all motile forms of mites. It also inhibits egg hatch. The product acts by contact and ingestion. It has good knockdown activity, combined with residual activity lasting for up to six weeks.

In field trials, no russeting was noted on any of the apple cultivars tested.

Toxicology

Oral:Acute oral LD₅₀ for male rats 132, female rats 159, male mice 146, female mice 121 mg/ kg. Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous LD₅₀ for rats >2000 mg/ kg. Inhalation: LC₅₀ (4 h) for male rats 1.38, female rats 0.36 mg/l. Phytotoxicity:No phytotoxicity has been observed at field use rates. ADI:6 mg/d (as carbon disulfide).

Ecotoxicology:
Bees: LC₅₀ 27 ppm.Birds: LD₅₀ for bobwhite quail 1884 mg/ kg.Daphnia: LC₅₀ (48 h) 0.031 μg/l.Fish: TLm (48 h) for carp 0.0035 mg/l.Worms: LC₅₀ (7 d) 218 ppm.

Environmental fate:
